V Maltese International Music Festival takes place in the period of April 12 to 30, 2017. The Festival is organised by the European Foundation for Support of Culture in collaboration with the Russian Centre for Science and Culture.
The concerts of world famous musicians such as Grigory Sokolov, Sergei Babayan, David Aaron Carpenter, and of young stars of classical music such as Jan Lisiecki, Narek Hakhnazaryan, Andrey Gugnin will be held in the best concert halls of Malta.
The Festival comprises Piano competition which total prize fund is 60,000 Euros. The competition is held in 4 age groups, the participants who win 3rd, 2nd and 1st place will receive awards and cash prizes. The jury consists of renowned artists, entrepreneurs, professors and music figures.
During the festival, well-known professors of music will be giving master-classes for participants of the Festival who arrived from various countries of the world - China, South Korea, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, France, Austria, South Africa, Mongolia, Turkey, Japan, Morocco, Tunisia, Hungary, Romania, Ireland, Canada, Italy, Belarus and Malta.
Grand-opening concert of the festival passed with great success on 13 April 2017 at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture.
Performances of festival participants, who played well-known pieces of Russian and foreign classics, made a long-lasting impression on the audience. The technique of playing, the mood and the spirit of the young musicians did not leave anyone indifferent.
