On September 24 the annual festival dedicated to the Day of European Languages was held at the central square of Sliema in Malta. The participants of the festival were the representatives of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, Educational centre "Rainbow", Italian Cultural Center, Alliance Française, Spanish Embassy, the Deaf People Association (Malta), Malta University Language School, DESA, the National Book Council (Malta), HOASA.
The cultural program of the festival included the reciting of Shakespeare’s verses in original and in translation to Maltese and German; decoration of language "wall" on which anyone could leave a message in any language; as well as Russian folk songs performed by Ekaterina Miller.
Festival guests got acquainted with the history and culture of each country, were able to select which of the proposed languages to learn next. The stand of Russian language courses in RCSC attracted great interest of Maltese people and guests of the island. Our teachers handed out brochures of language courses, talked about methodology of teaching the language, and about the progress of their students.
