The competition was dedicated to the 125th anniversary of outstanding Russian chess player Alexander Alekhin, who became the fourth world chess champion, who remains the only undefeated world champion who managed to hold this title until his death.

The tournament gathered more than three dozen young chess players from Russia, Malta, China and other countries with their supporters and fans - families and friends.

A tense competition of logic, tactical and strategic thinking, observation and insight took place within the walls of the hall of the RCSC for several hours until late evening.

Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Malta expresses its gratitude to the Maltese-Russian Friendship Foundation and the Maltese Chess Federation for a well-organized event and looks forward to continuing the organization of such tournaments in the future.
