In the period from 22 to 31 October 2016, Malta hosted International Piano Festival, organised by the European Foundation for Support of Culture with assistance of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture.
In the framework of the festival famous pianists, teachers of the conservatories of Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy, China and Russia, gave concerts, and conducted master classes for the more than fifty participants of the festival competitions and students from different countries of the world - China, Italy, Latvia, Russia, Germany, USA, Cyprus, Romania, Australia, Croatia, Belarus, Ireland, Poland, Estonia, Japan, Malta and others.
During the festival in Malta a competition was held among pianists for 3 age categories from 7 to 35 years. All winners received valuable awards, among which were: solo concerts in Malta and Germany, album recording, cash prizes and gifts.
Throughout the festival from early morning till late night piano music sounded, professors conducted master-classes, musicians rehearsed; students practiced playing the piano in several concert halls of Malta, including Russian Centre for Science and Culture.
31 October, the final concert of the winners of the festival competition was held in RCSC. This was the grand finale of the first International piano festival in Malta
