A master class of the Lermontov Museum-Reserve "Tarkhany" "How We Studied in the Old Times" was held at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture on April 14 2018.

At the beginning of the event, the presenters talked about the history of the museum's creation, interesting facts from the life of Mikhail Lermontov, and recited several of his poems.

Then the participants of the master class tried themselves as pupils of the old Russian school: they read the Old Russian alphabet, wrote with real goose feathers, ate porridge from a clay pot, and some even stood on peas in the corner of an improvised class.

The aim of the event was to strengthen the ties with historical roots in the growing generation of compatriots, to demonstrate the peculiarities of the traditions of classical Russian education, to show the role of the teacher and knowledge in the formation of the personality.

Young participants went home with their own ink drawings and new skills.
