Gifted musicians performed at RCSC on Russian Language Day

On June 6, Russian Center for Science and Culture marked Russian Language Day by organizing a concert of talented musicians.

RCSC Director Andrey Muravyev congratulated guests with this important holiday for everyone who feels connected with Russia and its language.

As part of Russian Language Day and 220th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin's birth celebration, Miriam Khaydarova, the repeat winner of the declamation annual competition performed an excerpt from "Eugene Onegin".

This was followed by performances of the Claire Mccartin vocal studio’s students. Claire, a long-term partner of RCSC and a Gnessins College graduate sang "Only time happens in life a meeting" romance in Russian. A student of Joseph Lia, a Maltese baritone and St. Petersburg Conservatory graduate, performed "My dear capital" and "Kalinka-Malinka" songs in Russian. Young Maltese talents also took part in the concert which ended with the virtuoso accordionist, our compatriot Yuri Sharygin’s performance.
